Mary Gillian is an integrative RMT with sixteen years of experience working in Ontario and British Columbia multi-disciplinary clinics. She previously trained as an artist and dancer. Her focus is facilitating Massage therapy as a profound process of self-care and embodiment, which transforms health into well-being.
Her approach uses gentle to deep pressure with a combination of techniques such as, Swedish, Myofascial, Positional Release, Muscle Energy, Neuro-Relaxational, Diaphragmatic Breathing, Heat/Cool Hydrotherapy, Ligamental Release, Visceral Manipulation, Joint Mobilization, Craniosacral, and Manual Lymph Drainage.
Her integrative approach is effective in deeply releasing pain, inflammation, and stored trauma; draining congestion, edema and lymphatic stagnation; harmonizing the nervous system; revitalizing the whole body; and her passion is collaborating with midwives in prenatal and postpartum care. Her focus is on grounding body awareness; activating diaphragmatic breathing; realigning the pectoral girdle; improving spinal circulation; and enhancing postural alignment.
Mary Gillian respectfully and gratefully acknowledges that she practices registered Massage therapy on the unceded traditional territory of the Ligwilda’xw people; the We Wai Kum, Wei Wai Ka, and Kwiakah First Nations peoples.
